What made you decide you wanted to be a football player ?
I played for a great football program to start my football career. My parents have always supported me playing. Initially my older brother played football, besides my dad he is my role model. I wanted to be like him. I was 5 or 6 years old when he first brought me to his high school practices.
What are your favorite moments from your football life?
I’ve had a very memorable football career. I have to say the Watkins days (Watkins Hornets)! It’s a youth football program in Washington D.C. It’s hard to put into words how it felt to grow a love for football, but this program means a lot to me. The community, pride, development, and support created moments that I could never forget.
What are you looking to achieve as a football player going forward?
A long professional career, displaying a consistent high level of defensive back play and professionalism.
If you could hang out with any football player past or present for a day, whoand why?
Darrelle Revis; When I first began playing corner, I watched a lot of his films. It was eye opening to see him cover and have success against each team’s most targeted receivers.
Which one of your family members inspires you the most and why?
My immediate family members, my mother, father, and brother. My older brother is 9 years older than me; he’s constantly growing and learning. I’ve always had a good role model to follow into directions of achievement and courage towards life’s endeavors.
What is your favorite defensive scheme and why?
Nickel defense (4-2-5). There are 5-6 defenders in the box, depending on formation, and 5 defensive backs. Nickel defense can offer a middle ground between run heavy and pass heavy defense. Four, five, or even six-man pressures, zone blitzes, split field coverages, man to man, can all be accomplished. The defense can be disguised with safety and nickel/overhang movement. You can also adjust to the offensive scheme and tempo effectively.
